He excelled designing homes to maximize the landscape. A designer’s masterpiece can reveal inner qualities. In a somewhat similar way, we learn certain things about God from His creation and His actions in history. In Acts 7, Stephen tells how God manifested His wisdom and power as his ancestors sojourned in Egypt. Stephen said, “These patriarchs were jealous of their brother Joseph and sold him to be a slave in Egypt. But God was with him and rescued him from all his troubles. And God gave him favor before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. God also gave Joseph unusual wisdom, so that Pharaoh chose him to govern all Egypt. He even put him in charge of the palace. A famine brought Jacob’s family to Egypt to buy food. After the second trip to buy food, Joseph sent for his father Jacob, and all his relatives. Jacob died in Egypt and his brothers took him and Joseph back to Canaan. They buried them in the tomb Abraham bought from the Hittites.” Just as God worked in Joseph’s life, God works in our lives — those who have Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. God is making all things work together for our good and His purpose.
