John Lenox, professor of mathematics at Oxford University, says, “If, as atheists argue, humans are merely the product of mindless activity, how can an atheist trust his own mind when it says there is no God?” Hebrews 11 speaks about the necessity of faith. “Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek him.” Noah had faith in God. When God told him He would bring a flood to destroy the wicked population, Noah believed what God said. Based on his faith in God, he built the ark in a land-locked region where there was no water. As a result, he saved his family and condemned the rest of the world that chose not to believe. Noah worked on the ark day after day, convinced that his work was worthwhile. Abraham was another man of faith. We read of him, “It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. Fast forward to Dr. George Washington Carver—another man of faith. He spent hours exploring the secrets of biology and chemistry to benefit others. Biblical faith is not just confidence in one’s self. Biblical faith believes God will do whatever in His Word He has promised to do.
