But evidence now exists that perhaps the universe has at least 10 trillion galaxies, each of which has about 100 billion stars. Did you get that? Of course, our minds cannot process such numbers, but they help us know that the universe is huge—beyond our wildest imagination. All of this points to the God we adore—His eternality, majesty, wisdom, and power. It brings to mind the question the psalmist asked in Psalm 89, “Where is there anyone as mighty as you, O LORD?” The writer reflects on his own question by saying, “The heavens are yours, and the earth is yours; everything in the world is yours—you created it all. You created north and south. Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon praise your name. Powerful is your arm! Strong is your hand! Your right hand is lifted high in glorious strength. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Unfailing love and truth walk before you as attendants. Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence Lord. They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation.” Since God is so awesome, He is certainly worthy of our worship. He is worthy that we give Him our unqualified love and submission. And despite things that may cloud our view of His majesty, we can still entrust our lives to him, not only for today but forever.
