They serve 1.5 million children, covering everything they need from prenatal care to college education. Charity Navigator monitors charities, and it has given them their highest rating 14 times for integrity and accountability. Their goal, like many churches and charitable organizations, is to mimic our Lord by doing good, especially to children. One notable trait of our Lord’s work here on earth was doing good for all people. When God told Peter to go visit the home of Cornelius, Peter obeyed, and introduced Jesus to the gathered people. He described Jesus as one who went around doing good. Here are Peter’s words in Acts 10: “God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” There can be no greater reputation than being noted for going around doing good. When you think about it, that is the essence of the Great Commandment: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as you do yourself. If we do that, people will say of us, “That person is going around doing good.”
