That was true as Moses led Israel out of Egypt. They were facing the Red Sea with the Egyptian army closing in on them. They panicked, groaned, and complained to Moses. God then said to Moses, Exodus Chapter 14, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through in the middle of the sea on dry ground.” After Moses did His part, God did the rest. We read that the angel of God, who had been leading the people of Israel, moved to the rear of the camp. The pillar of cloud moved from the front and stood behind them. The cloud settled between the Egyptian and Israelite camps. God’s presence in the cloud became darkness for the Egyptians but light and protection for the Israelites. When we submit to God and use the abilities He has given us, it is amazing what He does for His glory, for the benefit of others, and for our own joy.
