Many of his students became pros and often came back to him for tips. When he was 87 years old, he published My Little Red Book: Lessons from a Lifetime of Golf. It sold more than a million copies. Many other older people have never written a book like Penick, but they have great life lessons to teach. And like the author of Proverbs 8, they plead that others would listen to their godly wisdom. We think the author of Proverbs speaks for God when he writes, “I call to you, to all of you! I raise my voice to all people: You simple people, Use good judgment. You foolish people, show some understanding. Listen to me! For I have important things to tell you. Everything I say is right, for I speak the truth and detest every kind of deception. My advice is wholesome. There is nothing devious or crooked in it. My words are plain to anyone with understanding. Clear to those with knowledge. Choose my instruction rather than pure gold. For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies. Nothing you desire can compare with it.” The Bible assures us repeatedly that reverence for the LORD is the foundation of true wisdom and knowledge.” God delights to impart His wisdom to all who humbly ask Him.
