According to Coca-Cola, it is the world’s largest beverage company. Nearly 2 billion people living in 200 countries drink coke. Their global distribution network shows they know how to market coke products worldwide. Few people question Coke’s marketing genius. So how much more do God’s actions show His genius? To convey His glory, not only to ancient Israel but also to us, God has acted in history. He delivered ancient Israel from Egyptian slavery. He took them to the Promised Land He had pledged to give Abraham 400 years before. He later told the nation that though He would exile them for disobeying their covenant, He would allow them to return to their land. Isaiah predicted their return from exile hundreds of years before it happened. God used His sovereign ability to predict the future, then brought it to pass. In doing so, He gave hope to the hopeless people living in exile. We read in Isaiah chapter 43 where God said, “I alone am God. There is no other God – there never has been, and there never will be. I, yes I, am the LORD, and there is no other Savior… From eternity to eternity I am God.” WOW! Today, that same God of love, wisdom, and power assures US—His children, that He can sustain us through any and all of life’s difficulties, and control our destiny.
